Most common causes/fixes to kitchen faucet breaking (no water!)
Hey there. This morning, l turned on my kitchen faucet, and the water
dribbled out. All the other water faucets/toilets in the house work fine.
The shutoff valve under the faucet has not been touched and is open.
/>The supply pipes are copper that looks to be in great shape. The actual
faucet is pretty old (30-40 years I am guessing). Any quick fixes to
this so l can do my dishes tonight? l just can not imagine why a valve
would fail like this...hmmmm, both hot and cold do not work, now that l think about it. Maybe it is that piece where they combine the hot and cold feeds?
remove aerator and clean. that should do it.
If both your hot and cold don't work your mixing valve is just
shot. there is really nothing you can do but replace it. With it being
that old there is no point in even messing with it. You can get a pretty
cheap one at Lowe is or home depot. For tonight i would use another sink
to finish off dishes
the water spout has a un-screwable tip, unscrew it and see if
there is a particle build up in the spout screen filter, clean it out
well and turn the water on to check
